Mystic Maze

Mystic Maze is a handsome, three-year-old son of Mojave Moon, purchased for $65,000.  He made his debut last summer and immediately bucked shins. This is a common occurrence for any two-year-old. It's no different than a human baby getting an ear infection or a teenager developing a case of acne. Sooner or later a two-year-old is bound to catch it.

More than 50% of all two-year-olds have these annoying growing pains. No one is ever immune. That's why one must practice great patience with babies. If you want a nice three-year old, running for those large restricted purses, you need to develop a two-year-old first.

After recovering uneventfully from the bucked shins he developed other minor problems, which has delayed his return to the races. The most notable being quartercracks. This is the same ailment that hindered the two-year-old campaign of this year's Kentucky Derby winner, Big Brown. The impressive winner of the Kentucky Derby only made one start as a two-year-old. Curlin, the Horse of the Year, did not start until January of his three-year-old year. We're hopeful by giving MM the necessary time he deserves, he'll make his debut later this summer.
